Equipment Design
The Stuart McElrath Company can use its many years of experience to design custom equipment for your facility. A customer may need a specialized piece of equipment that does not exist in the marketplace or they wish to take a current design to the next level. This typically happens when the customer has actual day-to-day operational experience that the manufacture lacks. SMC will work under NDA on new or modified equipment designs as required.

SMC can ascertain you needs and work with you on the design changes. We will use 3D CAD software to design the changes to your equipment. Details of the existing machine can also be provided upon request. Complete parts lists, vendor sources, and drawings will be provided upon completion of the project. SMC can source the necessary electrical components, program code and, if necessary, supply the electrical control design for the machine. SMC will develop Z.E.S. (Zero Energy State) procedures and organized them into a comprehensive Lock Out/Tag Out procedure. SMC can also source the fabrication and assembly of your machine.
 
Parts Design
SMC can reverse engineer parts for the purposes of cost reduction, create drawings for old parts that never had drawings, create drawings of prototype parts and create drawings of obsoleted parts still in production.  SMC can design parts for increased wearability, cost reduction and create 3D CAD drawings from drafting board drawings or blueprints. Custom part design shares many of the characteristics of Reverse Engineering.
 
SMC uses high strength wear plate on high wear surfaces for its part design. This wear plate meets strict demands placed on wear resistance surfaces. Its unique combination of consistent and high hardness, high strength and excellent toughness makes the material well suited for a wide variety of applications.
